Short answer: Under Rs 6,000 the pick is the Sony WH-CH720N at Rs 5,890 — it has the best hybrid ANC, the lightest build and the most natural tuning in this bracket. If you want to spend less, the JBL Tune 770NC at Rs 4,490 gives you most of the noise reduction and longer battery for Rs 1,400 less. Below Rs 4,000, the Skullcandy Hesh ANC at Rs 3,690 is the honest entry point. All three are Unboxed, checked on our 50-point bench, and in stock as of 6 September 2026.

The picks, ranked
| # | Model | Price | Stock today | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sony WH-CH720N | Rs 5,890 | In stock | Best all-round ANC under Rs 6,000 |
| 2 | Sony WF-C710N (earbuds) | Rs 5,490 | In stock | If you want ANC in a pocketable form |
| 3 | JBL Tune 770NC | Rs 4,490 | In stock | Longest battery, most comfortable for all-day |
| 4 | Skullcandy Hesh ANC | Rs 3,690 | In stock | Entry-level over-ear ANC |
| – | Sony WH-CH520 | Rs 2,490 | In stock | No ANC. Listed because it is often the better buy — see below |
1. Sony WH-CH720N — Rs 5,890
The one to buy if you can stretch. It uses Sony’s V1 processor, the same family found in far more expensive models, and it shows on aircraft, metro and bus noise, which is where ANC earns its money.
The two things that separate it from everything cheaper here: it is unusually light for an over-ear at around 192 grams, which matters on a four-hour journey, and its tuning is neutral rather than bass-inflated, so voices in podcasts and calls sound natural rather than distant.
Roughly 35 hours with ANC on. Multipoint pairing means it holds a laptop and a phone at once — genuinely useful if you take calls while working.
Skip it if you want thumping bass out of the box. It can be EQ’d in the Sony app, but its default character is restrained.
2. Sony WF-C710N — Rs 5,490
These are earbuds, not over-ear, and they are here because a lot of people buying “ANC headphones” actually want something that fits in a pocket.
ANC performance is strong for the size. You will not match the WH-CH720N on aircraft rumble — physics favours the larger sealed earcup — but for metro, bus and office use the gap is smaller than the price difference suggests. Sound is balanced and clean in the way Sony’s C-series consistently is.
Skip it if you wear earbuds for six hours at a stretch. Over-ear is more comfortable for long sessions, and you get better passive isolation.
3. JBL Tune 770NC — Rs 4,490
The value pick, and the best choice for long wear. Battery life is the headline: JBL rates it around 70 hours with ANC off and 50 with ANC on, which is roughly double the Sony. If you forget to charge things, this is your headphone.
Its ANC is good rather than great — it takes the weight out of engine and fan noise without the last degree of quiet the Sony achieves. Tuning is warmer and more bass-forward, which many people prefer and which suits Hindi film music and modern pop well.
Skip it if you want a neutral, accurate sound for detailed listening, or you fly often and want the deepest possible cabin silence.
4. Skullcandy Hesh ANC — Rs 3,690
The entry point. It is an honest product at an honest price: real active noise cancellation, over-ear comfort, long battery life, and a fun bass-heavy tuning.
The ANC is a step below the JBL and two below the Sony. It removes the drone of a ceiling fan or an air conditioner well and takes the edge off traffic. It will not make a flight quiet.
Skip it if ANC quality is your main reason for buying. Stretch to the JBL if you can — the Rs 800 gap buys a real improvement.
The one people overlook: Sony WH-CH520 at Rs 2,490
This has no ANC at all and we are recommending it anyway, for a specific person.
If you mostly listen at home or in a quiet office, ANC is solving a problem you do not have — and every rupee spent on the ANC hardware is a rupee not spent on the drivers. The WH-CH520 puts its whole budget into sound and comfort, and at Rs 2,490 it sounds better than any Rs 2,490 ANC headphone will.
Buy it if your listening is mostly indoors. Buy ANC if you commute.
Who should NOT buy any of these
- Anyone whose main complaint is office conversation. ANC works on low-frequency rumble, not speech. None of these will fix that, at any price.
- Anyone cycling or walking in traffic. You need to hear horns. Use transparency mode or open-ear headphones.
- Anyone wanting audiophile sound quality. Under Rs 6,000, budget goes into ANC hardware. If sound is the priority and you listen in quiet, spend the same money on a non-ANC pair.
- Anyone who needs studio-grade microphones. These are fine for calls and poor for recording. Buy a dedicated microphone.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best ANC headphone under Rs 6,000 in India?
The Sony WH-CH720N at Rs 5,890 in unboxed condition. It has the strongest noise cancellation, the lightest build and the most natural tuning in this price band. The JBL Tune 770NC at Rs 4,490 is the value alternative with far longer battery.
Does unboxed mean used?
No. Unboxed means the sealed retail box was opened — a return, a display unit, or overstock. The product itself is like new. Every unit still goes through our 50-point check, which for headphones covers 12 test areas including drivers, ANC function, microphones, battery and charging.
Is ANC under Rs 5,000 any good?
Yes, for low-frequency noise. The JBL Tune 770NC and Skullcandy Hesh ANC both meaningfully reduce fan, air conditioner, bus and train rumble. What they do not do is match Rs 12,000 headphones on aircraft cabin noise or on the smoothness of the cancellation.
Do these come with a warranty?
Yes — a 6-month NewAsNew Assured Warranty, plus any remaining brand warranty on unboxed units, along with 7-day returns and a GST invoice.
Over-ear or earbuds for ANC?
Over-ear wins on ANC strength, comfort for long sessions and battery life. Earbuds win on portability and are better in hot weather, which matters in most of India. If you commute daily and carry a bag anyway, over-ear.
Will these work with an iPhone?
Yes, all of them, over SBC and AAC. iPhones do not support LDAC or aptX, so any codec claim beyond AAC is not usable on iOS. Sound quality over AAC is very good.
