Short answer: Under Rs 3,000 the commute pick is the realme Buds Air 5 Pro at Rs 2,490 — it has the strongest active noise cancellation in this bracket. If sound quality matters more than silence, buy the Sony WF-C510 at Rs 2,990 instead; it has no ANC and still sounds better than everything here. On a tight budget, the realme Buds T300 at Rs 1,090 is real ANC for four figures. All in stock as of 6 September 2026, unboxed, with a 6-month warranty.

1. realme Buds Air 5 Pro — Rs 2,490

The commute pick. Its ANC is the strongest in this price band by a clear margin — it takes the low rumble out of a metro carriage or a bus in a way the cheaper realme models only partly manage. It also has a multi-driver arrangement, which gives it a more separated sound than the single-driver models below it.

Tuning is energetic and bass-forward, which suits Bollywood, Punjabi and pop well and suits acoustic and classical less well.

Skip it if you listen mostly at home. You would be paying for ANC hardware you do not need — buy the Sony instead.

2. Sony WF-C510 — Rs 2,990

No active noise cancellation, and still the one we would personally use.

Sony put the entire budget into the driver and the tuning. The result is a balanced, natural sound with real midrange presence — voices in podcasts sound like voices, not like they are coming through a wall. Passive isolation from a good tip seal handles more high-frequency noise than people expect.

Skip it if you spend an hour a day on a metro or a bus. Low-frequency rumble is the one thing passive isolation cannot fix, and that is exactly what ANC exists for.

3. realme Buds Air 8 — Rs 2,890

The battery pick. If you forget to charge things or travel long distances, the extra runtime here is worth more day to day than a small ANC advantage. ANC is present and decent, and the sound sits between the Air 7 and the Air 5 Pro.

4. realme Buds Air 7 — Rs 2,390

Bass-forward and fun. ANC is a step behind the 5 Pro. If your listening is mostly modern film music and you want it to hit hard, this is a sensible Rs 2,390.

5. realme Buds Air 5 — Rs 1,490

The best balance of price and capability under Rs 1,500. Real ANC, decent sound, good case battery. For a student or a second pair for the gym, this is the honest recommendation.

6-7. realme Buds T300 (Rs 1,090) and Buds Q2 (Rs 990)

Both have genuine ANC at prices where that used to be impossible. The T300 is the better of the two — noticeably more effective on traffic and fan noise — and the Rs 100 difference is not worth thinking about.

Be realistic about what ANC at this price does: it reduces steady low-frequency drone. It does not make a bus quiet.

The thing that matters more than any of these choices

Your ear tip size. More people are disappointed by earbuds because of a bad seal than because of a bad product. If your earbuds sound thin, or the ANC seems weak, try the next tip size up before you conclude anything about the product.

Quick test: put them in, play music, then press gently inward. If the bass suddenly appears, your tips are too small. Every pair here ships with multiple sizes and most people never change from the pre-fitted medium.

Who should NOT buy ANC earbuds under Rs 3,000

  • Anyone who listens mainly at home or in a quiet office. Buy the Sony WF-C510 and get better sound for the same money.
  • Anyone who rides a two-wheeler or cycles. You need to hear traffic. This is a safety issue, not a preference.
  • Anyone bothered by office conversation. ANC does not remove speech at any price. Physics, not budget.
  • Anyone who needs excellent call quality above all. Look for ENC and multiple microphones. That is a different specification from ANC entirely.
  • Anyone with very small ear canals who has never found a comfortable earbud. Buy where you can return it. We give 7 days.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best ANC earbuds under Rs 3,000 in India?

The realme Buds Air 5 Pro at Rs 2,490 has the strongest noise cancellation in this band. For sound quality rather than silence, the Sony WF-C510 at Rs 2,990 is better despite having no ANC at all.

Is ANC at Rs 1,000 real?

Yes, it is genuine active noise cancellation, and yes, it is limited. Expect meaningful reduction of steady low-frequency noise such as fans, air conditioners and engine drone, and very little effect on voices or sudden sounds.

Does unboxed mean second-hand?

No. Unboxed means the sealed retail box was opened — returns, display units or overstock. Every unit passes our 50-point check, which for earbuds covers 12 test areas including drivers, ANC, microphones, case and battery. Only 2 to 3 in 10 devices reaching our bench pass.

Do these work with iPhone?

Yes, over SBC and AAC. iPhones do not support LDAC or aptX, so ignore those claims when buying for an iPhone.

How long do earbud batteries last before they degrade?

True wireless batteries are small and typically show noticeable capacity loss after two to three years of daily use. That is true of new and unboxed units equally, since unboxed stock has not been through meaningful charge cycles.

What warranty do I get?

A 6-month NewAsNew Assured Warranty, plus any remaining brand warranty on unboxed units, with 7-day returns and a GST invoice on every order.
