1. HP EliteBook 840 G8 Core i5 11th Gen at Rs 32,990 — the pick

The best balance on this page. An 11th Gen U-series chip with Intel Iris Xe graphics, which is a large step up from the UHD graphics in every 8th and 10th Gen machine above it — light gaming, GPU-accelerated video preview and 1080p editing all become realistic.

Add a matte 14-inch business panel, an excellent keyboard, a good port selection including Thunderbolt on most configurations, and accessible RAM and M.2 slots, and it is the machine we recommend most often.

Skip it if you need sustained heavy performance for hours; the 15W chip will throttle before an H-series one does.

2. Dell Latitude 5421 Core i7 11th Gen H-Series at Rs 39,990 — the workhorse

A 45W H-series processor rather than a 15W U-series one. That means it holds high clock speeds under long loads instead of easing off after a few minutes. If you compile code, export video or run long simulations, this is the machine.

One thing to know honestly: the 11th Gen H-series uses older UHD graphics, not Iris Xe. So this laptop has the stronger processor and the weaker integrated graphics compared with the EliteBook 840 G8 above. Choose accordingly.

Skip it if you want quiet running and long battery. A 45W chip is neither.

3. Dell Latitude 5400 Core i7 at Rs 22,490 — the value pick

An 8th Gen Core i7 for Rs 22,490, which is Rs 500 less than the same chassis with a Core i5. That is not an error and not a promotion — refurbished pricing follows unit cost and condition, not the badge.

Windows 11 eligible, upgradeable, solid build, and the cheapest genuinely capable machine we list.

4. Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch Core i7 at Rs 41,990 — the outlier

A 16-inch screen and macOS for under Rs 42,000. If you want a large display for editing, or you need macOS specifically, nothing else here comes close.

Be clear about what this is: an Intel-based MacBook Pro, not Apple silicon. It is heavier, runs hotter and has shorter battery life than an M-series Mac. If you want Apple silicon, the MacBook Air M3 at Rs 74,990 Unboxed is a different machine at a different price.

5. The 2-in-1s at Rs 38,990 and Rs 39,990

The Latitude 5320 2-in-1 (11th Gen) and Latitude 5310 2-in-1 (10th Gen) both fold flat and take pen input. Useful for teaching, note-taking, sketching and reviewing documents. Between them, the 5320 at Rs 38,990 is the better buy — newer generation and Rs 1,000 cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best refurbished laptop under Rs 45,000 in India?

The HP EliteBook 840 G8 Core i5 11th Gen at Rs 32,990, for its combination of 11th Gen chip, Iris Xe graphics, screen quality, keyboard and upgradeability. For sustained heavy work, the Dell Latitude 5421 Core i7 H-series at Rs 39,990.

Are these laptops Windows 11 eligible?

Yes. Every Windows laptop we list is 8th Gen Intel or newer with TPM 2.0, so all are eligible. This matters because consumer Extended Security Updates for Windows 10 end on 13 October 2026.

Why is the Core i7 Latitude 5400 cheaper than the Core i5?

Because refurbished pricing is set by what a unit costs us and the condition it arrives in, not by the processor badge. It is a real Rs 500 difference in favour of the i7, and it is worth taking.

Can I upgrade the RAM on these?

On the Dell Latitude and HP EliteBook models, usually yes — they have accessible SODIMM slots. Configuration is recorded during our 50-point check and stated on the product page. With 2026 memory prices high, buying the capacity you need up front is the better strategy.

Is the Rs 41,990 MacBook Pro Apple silicon?

No, it is an Intel Core i7 model. It offers a 16-inch screen and macOS at this price, with the heat and battery characteristics of an Intel Mac. The MacBook Air M3 at Rs 74,990 Unboxed is the Apple silicon option.

What warranty do these come with?

A 6-month NewAsNew Assured Warranty, 7-day returns, a GST invoice, and no-cost or low-cost EMI. Every unit passes the 50-point check across 14 laptop test areas.
