Short answer: The cheapest refurbished laptop we can actually ship in India today is the Dell Latitude 7490 with a Core i5 8th Gen processor at ₹22,490 — 75% below its ₹88,999 launch price, and officially eligible for Windows 11. Spend ₹34,990 for an HP EliteBook 840 G8 if you want 11th Gen silicon, or ₹53,990 for a Dell Precision 5550 workstation with dedicated graphics. Every unit ships with warranty, GST invoice, EMI and 7-day returns.
Prices are live as of 29 September 2026 and move with stock — check the linked product page for today’s exact price.
What “Excellent” battery health means here: above 80% of original design capacity on a laptop, and above 85% on a smartphone. The thresholds differ because the two age differently — a laptop spends most of its life on mains power, a phone is cycled every day. Anything below that is not listed; there is no lower battery tier. The measured figure for your exact unit is printed on its product page.
The refurbished market in India is full of vague “good condition” claims and sellers listing machines they do not physically have. Every live pick below is on our shelf, with the real price beside it. Where a band is empty, we say so.
Is a refurbished laptop worth it in India?
Yes — if it is certified, tested and warrantied. A properly refurbished laptop runs on original parts and costs 50–75% less than new.
The reason is what the machine was built for. A new ₹25,000 laptop in India ships with an entry-level Celeron, 4GB of soldered RAM and eMMC storage. A refurbished Dell Latitude at the same price gives you a quad-core Core i5, upgradable RAM, a real NVMe SSD and a chassis built for a five-year corporate life. Why ex-corporate laptops win.
The honest catch: these machines are three to six years old and a used battery is a used battery. If that trade sounds wrong, our refurbished vs new comparison makes the case for buying new.
What does each budget band actually get you?
The whole market in one table. Everything listed is in stock today.
| Budget band | What you get | In stock today | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under ₹20,000 | 6th/7th Gen dual-core, not Windows 11 eligible | Nothing. Shelf is empty. | — |
| Under ₹25,000 | Core i5 8th Gen quad-core, 14-inch business build | Latitude 7490, 5400, 5490, 7400 | ₹22,490–₹24,990 |
| ₹25,000–₹35,000 | Core i7 8th Gen, or Core i5 11th Gen with Iris Xe | Latitude 5400 i7, Latitude 7400 i7, EliteBook 840 G8 | ₹25,990–₹34,990 |
| ₹35,000–₹45,000 | 11th Gen i5/i7, 2-in-1 touchscreens, H-series | Latitude 5320 2-in-1, EliteBook 830 G8, EliteBook 840 G8 i7, Latitude 5421 | ₹38,990–₹44,990 |

Best refurbished laptops under ₹25,000

Where most Indian buyers should start. Four machines are live right now.
| Laptop | Processor | Best for | Price | MRP | You save |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Latitude 7490 | Core i5 8th Gen | Best overall — lightest at 1.4 kg | ₹22,490 | ₹88,999 | 75% |
| Dell Latitude 5400 | Core i5 8th Gen | Best if you will upgrade RAM later | ₹22,990 | ₹94,999 | 76% |
| Dell Latitude 5490 | Core i5 8th Gen | Cheapest route into a 14-inch business build | ₹23,490 | ₹84,700 | 72% |
| Dell Latitude 7400 | Core i5 8th Gen | Slimmer 7-series chassis | ₹24,990 | ₹98,000 | 74% |
The Latitude 7490 at ₹22,490 is the one we recommend most often. Its Core i5-8350U is quad-core — four cores, eight threads. The 6th and 7th Gen chips in cheaper refurbished laptops are dual-core, which is why twenty browser tabs and a screen-shared video call feel roughly twice as comfortable on 8th Gen. It is also the line Microsoft drew for Windows 11 eligibility, and Windows 10 support ends on 13 October 2026.
7490 versus 7400 is a chassis choice, not a speed one — 7400 vs 7490 settles it. To add RAM or a bigger SSD yourself, take the 5400 at ₹22,990: the 5-series has accessible slots the 7-series does not. Deeper: under ₹25,000, student picks.
Best refurbished laptops from ₹25,000 to ₹35,000

More cores on 8th Gen silicon, or fewer cores on much newer silicon.
| Laptop | Processor | Why pick it | Price | MRP | You save |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Latitude 5400 (i7) | Core i7 8th Gen | Coding, heavy multitasking, upgradable | ₹25,990 | ₹79,999 | 68% |
| Dell Latitude 7400 (i7) | Core i7 8th Gen | i7 power in a thin-and-light body | ₹29,990 | ₹89,999 | 67% |
| HP EliteBook 840 G8 | Core i5 11th Gen | Iris Xe graphics, best battery life here | ₹34,990 | ₹89,999 | 61% |
The EliteBook 840 G8 at ₹34,990 is the value pick of the catalogue if you can reach it. Its 11th Gen Core i5 brings Intel Iris Xe graphics — the first integrated GPU that handles light photo and video work without frustrating you. 8th vs 10th vs 11th Gen shows where you feel it.
For CPU-heavy rather than graphics-heavy work, the i7 machines are the better spend — see i5 vs i7. Honestly: the Latitude 5410, 5420 and 5520 this band usually revolves around are out of stock. Deeper: under ₹35,000, work-from-home picks.
Best refurbished laptops from ₹35,000 to ₹45,000
The convertible and H-series band — four machines in stock, the widest choice of form factors here.
| Laptop | Processor | Why pick it | Price | MRP | You save |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Latitude 5320 2-in-1 | Core i5 11th Gen | 360° touchscreen, note-taking, presentations | ₹38,990 | ₹98,000 | 60% |
| HP EliteBook 830 G8 | Core i5 11th Gen | 13-inch travel machine, biggest discount here | ₹39,990 | ₹1,29,999 | 69% |
| HP EliteBook 840 G8 (i7) | Core i7 11th Gen | Best all-round machine under ₹45,000 | ₹42,990 | ₹1,29,999 | 67% |
| Dell Latitude 5421 | Core i7 11th Gen H-series | Sustained load — rendering, compiling, big Tally files | ₹44,990 | ₹89,999 | 50% |
Two more live options sit here. The Dell Latitude 5310 2-in-1 at ₹39,990 is a smaller 13-inch convertible, and the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (A2141, Core i7, Radeon Pro 5300M) at ₹41,990 is 79% off its ₹1,99,900 launch price — the cheapest big-screen Mac in India. It is Intel, not Apple silicon, so expect warmth and modest battery life; our verdict at ₹40,000 says when it is wrong for you.
The Latitude 5421’s H-series chip holds boost clocks far longer than the U-series parts in everything else here — what rendering and long compiles need. See U, P and H decoded, the 2-in-1 roundup, under ₹45,000.
Best refurbished laptops above ₹45,000
Above ₹45,000 you stop buying a laptop and start buying a workstation — or a Mac.
| Laptop | What makes it different | Price | MRP | You save |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Precision 5550 | Core i7 10th Gen, 4GB dedicated graphics, 15-inch | ₹53,990 | ₹1,69,999 | 68% |
| Dell Precision 3551 | Core i7 10th Gen, 4GB graphics, mobile workstation | ₹54,990 | ₹1,49,999 | 63% |
| Apple MacBook Air M3 (2024, Unboxed) | Apple M3, 8GB/256GB, fanless, all-day battery | ₹74,990 | ₹1,14,990 | 35% |
The two Precisions are the only machines here with a real dedicated GPU — what CAD, 3D and serious video editing need. Do you actually need a dedicated GPU? and Precision 3551 vs 5550.
The MacBook Air M3 is Unboxed rather than Grade A Certified: a 2024 machine whose box was opened, at ₹74,990 against ₹1,14,990. That discount is smaller than anything else here because Apple silicon holds its value — the market being honest, not us being stingy. See the MacBook buying guide, freelancer picks, video editing.
Why is nothing in stock under ₹20,000?
Because we will not list what we cannot ship. The sub-₹20,000 shelf — Latitude 7480, 5580, 5570 and 7470 — is empty today. Those units sold and have not been replaced.
Two things to know while you wait. Those machines are 6th and 7th Gen, so dual-core and not Windows 11 eligible. And the 2026 RAM and SSD shortage is pushing this market’s floor upwards, so a sub-₹20,000 business laptop is getting rarer, not cheaper. At ₹22,490 the Latitude 7490 is worth the extra ₹2,500 — we say so even when the cheaper machines are in stock.
What should you check before buying any refurbished laptop?
- Grade: “Grade A” should mean clean, dent-free, fully restored. Ask what a seller’s grades mean; if they cannot say, that is your answer.
- Battery health %: insist on the real tested figure, not “battery OK”. Ours is shown on every page. What 80% actually means day to day.
- Warranty: a genuine seller gives a real warranty plus a 7-day return. What is covered and what is not.
- GST invoice: needed for input credit, and a sign of a real business. How it works on a refurbished laptop.
- Original parts: no cheap third-party repairs.
- RAM and storage: 8GB is the floor in 2026, 16GB is comfortable. How much RAM you need and why the SSD matters more than the processor.
- EMI: no-cost or low EMI turns the price into an easy monthly figure.
The long version: how to buy without getting cheated and 15 questions to ask any seller. Read both before spending money anywhere, including here.
Unboxed, refurbished or new — which word should you look for?
New: sealed, highest price. Unboxed: like-new, box opened but barely or never used — the MacBook Air M3 above. Grade A Certified refurbished: slightly used, professionally restored and tested — every other laptop here. All of them include warranty, GST invoice and 7-day returns, so “used” never means “risky”.
What refurbished is not is second-hand. The honest difference, and Unboxed vs Refurbished vs Grade A for the decision framework.
What does this cost per month on EMI?
Most Indian buyers judge a laptop by the monthly number. On a 12-month no-cost EMI the ₹22,490 Latitude 7490 is roughly ₹1,874 a month, the ₹34,990 EliteBook 840 G8 roughly ₹2,916, the ₹53,990 Precision 5550 roughly ₹4,499. Figures depend on your card and tenure — how no-cost and card EMI work. Delivery is pan-India: timelines, packing, damage policy.
Who should NOT buy a refurbished laptop
We would rather lose a sale than have you buy the wrong thing. The honest list:
If you need serious gaming. Only the two Precisions have a dedicated GPU, and those are professional 4GB cards. Buy a new gaming laptop.
If you need all-day battery away from a socket. We test every battery, disclose its health and replace anything below our threshold — but a three-to-six-year-old battery will not match a sealed machine. If you work from trains and cafés, the ₹74,990 MacBook Air M3 or a new laptop is the honest answer.
If your employer or college mandates specific hardware. Some require a current-generation CPU or a MacBook. Check that list first.
If a scratch will bother you. Grade A Certified means restored and fully functional, not factory-new. There may be light cosmetic marks; we photograph and disclose them.
If you want the newest generation. The newest machine here is 11th Gen Intel or an M3 Mac. If you need a 14th Gen chip or an M4, buy new.
How we decide what gets listed
Every machine goes through a 50-point quality check before listing — processor, RAM, storage and battery health, display, keyboard, trackpad, every port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, speakers, hinges, chassis. Anything that fails and cannot be restored is not listed. Most of what we inspect gets rejected, and that is the point: not every product deserves to be sold. The full process is here. Tested battery health sits on every unit in our certified refurbished laptops collection.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best refurbished laptop under ₹30,000 in India?
The Dell Latitude 7400 Core i7 8th Gen at ₹29,990, or the Latitude 5400 i7 at ₹25,990 if you want budget left for a RAM upgrade. Both are quad-core and Windows 11 eligible. Under ₹25,000, the Latitude 7490 at ₹22,490 is the best value.
Is there anything in stock under ₹20,000?
No. That shelf is empty today and we do not list machines we cannot ship. The in-stock entry point is the Dell Latitude 7490 at ₹22,490. The 6th and 7th Gen machines that fill that band are not Windows 11 eligible anyway, so we recommend the ₹22,490 machine even when cheaper units exist.
Are refurbished laptops reliable for students?
Yes. A 50-point tested Grade A business laptop with a real warranty outperforms any new laptop at the same money in India. The exceptions are gaming and courses that mandate specific hardware.
Do refurbished laptops come with a warranty and GST invoice?
At NewAsNew, yes — every laptop includes a warranty, a GST invoice in your name, 7-day returns and EMI. The invoice matters for input credit or reimbursement.
Can I pay in EMI?
Yes. No-cost and low-cost EMI turn the ₹22,490 Latitude 7490 into roughly ₹1,874 a month over 12 months, and the ₹34,990 EliteBook 840 G8 into roughly ₹2,916.
Will these laptops run Windows 11?
Every live pick here is 8th Gen Intel or newer, which is officially Windows 11 eligible. Anything 7th Gen or older is not. With Windows 10 support ending on 13 October 2026, it is the most important spec to check.
What does Grade A Certified actually mean at NewAsNew?
The unit has passed our 50-point check and been restored to full working order, with cosmetic marks photographed and disclosed on the product page. It does not mean factory-new. Unboxed is the separate grade for like-new machines whose box was simply opened.
Should I wait for a festive-season sale?
Not for refurbished stock. Refurbished pricing follows unit supply, not sale calendars, so today’s discount is the real one and popular models sell out rather than get cheaper. Our festive-season laptop guide explains what genuinely drops in a sale.

Written by Atul Pandey, founder of NewAsNew (NextG Serve Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi). We inspect every laptop on this page ourselves and only list what genuinely performs — because not every product deserves to be sold. Our story and why we grade honestly.
Why our grade is the strictest in the business
Most refurbished sellers in India grade downwards. A unit arrives, it fails the top standard, so it becomes a Grade B. It fails that, it becomes a Grade C. Nothing is ever really rejected, because every grade is another shelf to put it on. That is how a “certified refurbished” market ends up full of devices nobody would certify.
We run one grade, and one answer. Every device that reaches our bench goes through a 50-point check. Only 2 to 3 out of every 10 pass. The other 7 to 8 go back to the supplier — not down a grade, not onto a marketplace, not into a clearance bin. Back. We have no Grade B to hide a failure in, which is precisely why our Grade A means something.
That is the whole business in one sentence: not every product deserves to be sold. We would rather ship nothing this week than ship something that will come back to you in three months. It is an expensive way to run a refurbishing operation and it is the reason we will not be the cheapest seller you find.
We publish the pass rate as a range rather than one flattering number, because the real figure moves month to month with the stock we are offered. Anyone can quote a percentage. Explaining why you refuse to quote a single one is harder to fake — and we have yet to find another refurbisher in India who rejects seven in ten and says so publicly.
Every unit that does pass ships with a 6-month NewAsNew Assured Warranty, a GST invoice in your name, 7-day returns and no-cost EMI. The full 50-point process is documented here, and the published criteria are here — read them before you buy from anyone, including us.
